A short length of random rubble wall was revealed during monitoring of pipe laying for the Buttevant Main Drainage Scheme. The wall was excavated in advance of pipe laying proceeding. It was revealed along the western edge of the existing street, running parallel to it at a point where the street is particularly wide. It was 4m long, 0.65m wide and 0.76m high. The wall was located c. 30m outside of and to the south of the likely extent of the medieval town. The wall may reflect an earlier building line relating to a time when the street was narrower than today, probably during the post-medieval period.
