Testing of a proposed development site at Ballybeg East, Co. Cork, was undertaken as part of an impact assessment. The development consisted of the construction of a private house, garage and associated services on a greenfield site. Geophysical survey of the site revealed the presence of a number of potential archaeological anomalies. Five test-trenches were excavated on the proposed development site. No archaeological finds or features were uncovered during testing.
