A test excavation was carried out at a greenfield site at Sooreeney, Sixmilebridge, Co. Clare. The proposed development of nine houses was located within the zone of archaeological potential of two possible barrows (CL052–021). During the course of the test excavation the remains of disused field systems were uncovered. No artefacts were retrieved. Further investigative work will be carried out at the site in 2009.
