Testing was carried out in advance of the construction of an extension to a house. The site is located within the zone of potential for the historic town of Killaloe. Three trenches were manually excavated at this site. The average depth of excavation was 1m. The stratigraphy consisted of a 0.15m deep layer of topsoil overlying a 0.8m layer of dark blackish-brown silty clay with occasional rubble and brick. The trenches were excavated down to the natural subsoil, a light yellowish-brown silty clay. Nothing of an archaeological nature was noted during the test-trenching.
