This site was located within the N9/N10 Kilcullen to Waterford scheme, Waterford to Powerstown Phase 4 – Knocktopher to Powerstown. Cranavonane 1 consisted of a small burnt spread (34.5m2) that sealed a large rectangular trough (4.4m by 3m by 0.48m). The trough contained heat-shattered stones in a charcoal-rich material. A small oval-shaped pit was situated c. 25m to the south-west of the burnt spread and did not contain burnt-mound material. The site was bordered to the east and north-east by a stream, which was prone to flooding.
