Following a substantial degree of erosion and slippage to the top of Harryville Motte (ANT037–022), consolidation works were carried out to secure the material and prevent further slippage. A retaining fence was erected around the summit of the motte, and material excavated from numerous modern ‘causeways’ in the ditch was used to fill up the eroded areas. The top of the motte was then covered with geotextile and grass seed laid down in an effort to minimise further slippage. All invasive groundworks associated with this were monitored, with nothing of archaeological significance being encountered during the investigation.
