Monitoring was carried out of the excavation of two geological test-pits opened close to Nun’s Cross church and graveyard at Nun’s Cross, Ashford, Co. Wicklow, in November 2007. The proposed works involved site investigation works associated with the Wicklow water supply scheme. Both test-pits are located close to a delisted RMP site, WI025–002. Both test-pits had a similar stratigraphy, comprising bitumen and hardcore stone overlying a cream/brown silty sand. The site investigation trenches did not impact on any archaeological material.
