Testing was carried out in the carpark area of St Cronan’s House, Bray Civic Centre, Co. Wicklow. Testing was previously carried out by Georgina Scally in 2001 prior to the construction of the new civic centre and nothing of archaeological significance was recorded (Excavations 2001, No. 1343). At the time of the test excavations in 2001 a carpark to the side and rear of St Cronan’s UDC building was not accessible for testing, therefore testing was required in the area prior to any further development on site. Two test-trenches were excavated in the carpark area. The area appears to have been infilled in the past as the stratigraphy comprised mainly modern infill material which lay on natural subsoils. This infilling was probably completed during the construction of the carpark. Nothing of archaeological interest was recorded at the site.
