Testing was carried out at Ramstown Lower, Gorey, Co. Wexford. The site is bounded by modern industrial units to the south and east, a 19th-century workhouse and associated burial-ground located in the adjoining property to the north and the N11 and waste ground to the west. Seven test-trenches were excavated at the development site. The trenches revealed that the site had been extensively disturbed in the recent past and no intact soil horizons were identified in any of the trenches opened. The eastern end of the site was covered in a thin layer of disturbed topsoil, while most of the western end of the site was filled with extensive levelling deposits of modern clay and rubble dumps. No features or deposits of archaeological significance were identified in any of the test-trenches opened.
