This site was excavated as part of the pre-construction archaeological mitigation of the N25 Waterford bypass, alternative route. A spread of burnt-mound material, badly disturbed by modern agricultural activities, extended over an area of 10m2 and, when removed, two troughs and three pits were revealed. A series of stake-holes were identified around the edges of both troughs and one of the pits. One trough also had a stepped side for accessibility. An additional five pits, including one figure-of-eight-shaped pit with a ring of oxidised clay present around the south bowl indicating in situ burning, were located to the west and south of the burnt spread. All finds recovered during the excavation were post-medieval in date and no post-excavation analysis is proposed.
