Monitoring of road-construction works was carried out in this townland during construction of the N25 Waterford city bypass, alternative route. A programme of extensive pre-construction archaeological investigations, including aerial reconnaissance, geophysical survey and 10m-interval test-trenching, were previously carried out along this section of the alternate route. A number of archaeological sites were identified during these investigations and were subsequently excavated. Monitoring of topsoil-stripping was carried out during road-construction works and no archaeological features or finds were encountered.
