Testing was undertaken in January 2007 in response to a condition of planning at Nos 43–44 Michael Street, Waterford city, on an area of ground adjacent to an existing bank.
Trenching was limited to a 2m by 2m lift shaft, which was machine excavated to a depth of 1.5m below the present-day floor surface. No features of archaeological interest were revealed in the course of this testing.
