Four trenches were opened on the imprint of areas which were to be disturbed for two townhouses. The site at No. 9 Emmett Street is located within the historic town of Dungarvan, on the north side of the street. The projected southern circuit of the town wall extended east–west along the eastern section of Emmett Street. The site is located 20m outside the line of the town wall. Within the trenches four features were found. However, none of the features were of an archaeological provenance and all were of relatively modern date.
