This site was excavated as part of the pre-construction archaeological mitigation of the N25 Waterford bypass, alternative route. Bawnfune 6 consisted of a shallow, disturbed spread of burnt stone and charcoal (5m by 4m by 0.05m), associated with a large pit (2m by 0.6m min. by 0.68m) that extended beyond the road-take, three smaller pits and six shallow stake-holes. Post-excavation is still ongoing and radiocarbon dates were not available at the time of submission. A Bronze Age date is expected.
