This site was excavated as part of the pre-construction archaeological mitigation of the N25 Waterford bypass, alternative route. It consisted of a shallow, disturbed spread of heat-fractured stone and charcoal which sealed a subcircular (2.08m by 1.7m by 0.4m) and circular pit (0.69m diameter by 0.14m depth). No finds were uncovered during the excavation, and just one small piece of cremated bone was present in the fill of the subcircular pit. Post-excavation analysis is still ongoing and radiocarbon dates were not available at the time of submission but a Bronze Age date is expected.
