Trial-trenching was carried out in June 2006 on the line of the upgraded A4 between 27252 36026 and 27278 36009. Two areas of the site were investigated further in August and September 2006. At 27272 36011 a small group of undated pits, including some possible post-holes, was excavated. A section was excavated through a backfilled mill-race beside Oona Water at 27272 36011.
