Trial-trenching was carried out in June 2006 on the line of the upgraded A4 between 27520 36025 and 27559 36042. Further investigation took place in August 2006 in five locations where features of archaeological potential were identified. A small burnt spread at 27533 36030 and three small pits at 27527 36027 may represent prehistoric activity in the area. Other features were found to be recently removed field boundary ditches.

Editor’s note: Although excavated during 2006, the report on this site arrived too late for inclusion in the bulletin of that year.
