The work was undertaken to determine the archaeological potential of an area of ancillary works associated with the N7 Nenagh to Limerick dual carriageway. The proposed development site is located in the townland of Gortybrigane, Chainage 800, c. 1km to the south-east of the town of Birdhill. The site lies c. 1km to the north-west of a zone of archaeological potential for a fulacht fiadh (possible), TN031–007. Ten trenches were excavated on the proposed development site. No archaeology was identified during testing.
