Archaeological investigation in advance of the N7 Nenagh to Limerick road project at Cooleen took place on 2 and 3 October 2006. A single pit, 1.5m long by 1.4m wide with a depth of 0.4m, was identified. In addition there was a shallow charcoal-rich spread associated with a fire spot. No artefacts were recovered from the site.
Editor’s note: Although excavated during 2006, the report on this site arrived too late for inclusion in the bulletin of that year.
