Monitoring took place of groundworks at Sligo Vocational Educational Committee (VEC), Quay Street, Sligo. The proposed development comprises the construction of an entrance foyer, steps and wheelchair ramp on either side of the foyer and an associated service trench along the front of the existing VEC property on Quay Street. The proposed development lies within the zone of archaeological potential of Sligo town (SL014–065). Monitoring was carried out on 28 November 2007 and again from 10 to 11 March 2008. Nothing of archaeological significance was uncovered.
