The site is located on the north bank of the Garvoge River, at No. 4 The Mall, Sligo. It consists of one of a series of 19th-century terraced houses, associated yards and gardens to the rear, which slope relatively steeply down to the river. It is proposed to redevelop the existing house into offices with the addition of an extension to the rear for further office space over basement and ground-floor covered parking. The proposed development and extension are located within the environs of Sligo town, SL014–065. Archaeological investigations of groundworks were undertaken in concert with development works in January 2007. One modern linear featured dating to the 19th or 20th century was uncovered. Other than this, no archaeological features or deposits were identified.
