Six test-trenches were opened on the imprint of a dwelling house in the townland of Kingsland. A ringfort is located to the south-west of the house site. Set in the corner of a field, the monument is 55m away from the nearest point within the house site. No archaeological features or remains were uncovered in any of the test-trenches. Evidence was found for cultivation furrows. This was not surprising as the field was relatively dry, with a gentle slope and reasonably fertile with good drainage.
