The site of the proposed development is located in the townland of Kilnamanagh. The development site is adjacent to a disused stone cottage and outbuildings and is near two monuments. Kilnamanagh Church and graveyard, RO009–056, is situated to the south of the proposed development on the opposite side of the public road. RO009–055 (holy well) is situated over 100m north-east of the proposed development site. Five test-trenches were excavated by machine to the level of undisturbed natural. All measured 2m wide and 10m long and were excavated to a depth of 0.1–0.4m. A uniform stratigraphy was revealed across the site. There was no evidence of archaeological activity.
