Test-trenching was carried out prior to a single-house development at Ballygaddy, Birr, Co. Offaly, within the zone of potential for a ringfort. A series of trenches was subsequently excavated by mechanical digger at the house site, entrance and percolation area. No features or finds of archaeological significance were revealed.
