Ardan II (extra testing), excavated in October 2007 in advance of the proposed N52 Tullamore bypass national road scheme, was located approximately 1.5km north of Tullamore town centre at the site of a proposed new roundabout for the scheme. Prior to the completion of the CPO fence line and site clearance the area was open pasture used primarily for rough grazing. Four test-trenches were excavated at this location and no archaeological features or deposits were identified.
