Archaeological assessment, using machine-excavated test-trenches, was undertaken in advance of the construction of a retail and housing development in the townland of Townparks South, Trim in Co. Meath. The test-trenches were excavated using a 20-tonne tracked excavator equipped with a toothless grading bucket and varied slightly in depth between 1.9m and 2.2m, being deeper at the northern end. The area investigated in this third phase of testing was found to contain no archaeological deposits, having been dramatically landscaped in the recent past (see Excavations 2005, No. 1262, for earlier work).
