Monitoring was carried out in November 2007 in the townland of Stalleen and Cruicerath in County Meath. Particular emphasis was placed on the excavation of geological test-pits and slit-trenches along a section of road that ran from the Stalleen Water Treatment Works down the hill until the junction of the Donore–Duleek road in County Meath. This section of the development was the area of highest archaeological potential. It was situated in close proximity to ME027–001, a slab burial and possible cemetery, which was discovered in 1935 in the adjacent field to the north-west. Trial holes revealed black shale deposits and boulder clay and no archaeological features.
