This site, located within Contract 2 (Dunshaughlin–Navan) of the proposed M3 Clonee to North of Kells motorway, was identified during testing by Paul Stevens in 2004 (Excavations 2004, No. 1188, 04E0428) and was excavated in 2007. Two pits filled with burnt-mound material were associated with several spreads of similar material. This site was located at the base of a hill beside the River Skane, close to another burnt-mound site at Blundelstown 2/3 (Excavations 2005, AD3, A008/023), and had been heavily damaged due to agricultural practices in recent years.
