This site at Lismullin 2, Skreen, was excavated as part of the M3 Clonee–North of Kells between 22 April and 2 March 2007. The site was divided into three areas, separated by modern field boundaries. On site were a series of linear features/ditches, a metalled surface and curvilinear ditches. These features were located in proximity to Rath Lugh and Lismullin 1 (see No. 1349 above, A008/021).
It is most likely that the linear ditches identified were field boundaries that were destroyed to create greater single units of land. The linear ditches running north-west/south-east in Area 1 (F5 and F7) followed the same orientation as the existing field boundary that separated Area 1 and Area 2, and this was seen in the first-edition OS maps (1836). F3 lay east–west, differing from the orientation of F5 and F7, both possible disused field boundaries. A number of post-medieval features including a metalled surface and drainage features were identified.
