An impact assessment was undertaken at a site at Dowth, Drogheda, Co. Meath. There are no known archaeological sites in the immediate area. The site is located 2km from the banks of the Boyne River, 1km north-west of Dowth passage tomb (ME020–017) and 1.2km from Newgrange (ME019–045). Seven test-trenches were excavated on the footprint of the proposed agricultural unit, dung-stead and silage pit. The site was previously disturbed during the construction of the adjoining sheds. No features or stratigraphy of an archaeological nature were identified in the test-trenches.
