Test-trenching was undertaken in the area of a proposed borrow pit in the townland of Derver, Co. Meath, adjacent to the M3 Clonee to North of Kells motorway scheme. Six trenches were excavated at 30m intervals with a combined length of 775.18m. Two small pits (0.86m by 0.44m by 0.15m; 0.76m by 0.66m by 0.06m) of an archaeological nature were excavated. The nature of these features was consistent with what was already known about the archaeology of the area (further isolated pits at sites Derver 1–6, A030/025–A030/020, Nos 1294–99 above), and are thought to represent transitory prehistoric settlement.
