Excavation of Site 16 took place from 23 October to 13 November 2007 in association with a planned housing scheme. The site was one of a number identified as a result of an extensive programme of testing carried out under licence 05E0963 (Excavations 2005, No. 1078).
The possible remains of a prehistoric house were identified during testing on low-lying ground close to a stream. Upon excavation two concentrations of stake- and post-holes were excavated; however, both concentrations lacked any visible pattern or enclosing element. It is possible that the remains may be representative of light, windbreak-type structures. A number of pits were also excavated and among the finds were a flint barbed and tanged arrowhead, a rubbing or grinding stone and some sherds of prehistoric pottery.
