Excavation of Site 7 took place from 28 August to 12 September 2007 in association with a planned housing scheme. The site was one of a number identified as a result of an extensive programme of testing carried out under licence 05E0963 (Excavations 2005, No. 1078).
Two separate areas of burnt-mound material consistent with those typical of the second millennium bc were excavated at the site, which was located c. 50m from the edge of a stream. In Area A the spread of burnt-mound material measured 5.5m by 5m by 0.12m and sealed a sub-oval trough measuring 1.92m by 1.41m by 0.58m.
In Area B the spread was truncated and was only present in patches. A large pit interpreted as a waterhole and an elongated trough were the focus of activity in this area. A possible hearth was excavated to the east of the elongated trough.
