Excavation of Site 6 took place from 11 September to 2 November 2007 in association with a planned housing scheme. The site was one of a number identified as a result of an extensive programme of testing carried out under licence 05E0963 (Excavations 2005, No. 1078).
A burnt mound was excavated at the site. It was located c. 20m from the edge of a stream and c. 40m north-east of Site 7 (see No. 1193 below, 06E0469), also a burnt mound. The burnt-mound deposit overlay five subrectangular troughs, a large irregular pit interpreted as a waterhole and a deep oval trough which showed evidence of having been lined with clay.
