Excavation of Site 5 took place from 20 October to 2 November 2007 in association with a planned housing scheme. The site was one of a number identified as a result of an extensive programme of test-trenching carried out under licence 05E0963 (Excavations 2005, No. 1078).

A burnt mound was excavated at the site which was located c. 20m from the edge of a stream. The burnt-mound deposit overlay three large pits interpreted as troughs or waterholes, which would have been the focus of activity on this site. Among the finds were two long flint blades which were recovered from a deposit sealed by the burnt-mound deposit.
