Testing was undertaken on a site at The Black Ridge, Ardee, in December 2007, as part of an archaeological assessment. The site for the single dwelling is located within the medieval town wall, which is no longer extant aboveground, in the north-east corner.
Two test-trenches were excavated on the site, each 20m by 2m. The testing disclosed no material of an archaeological nature.
