An impact assessment was undertaken at Castlenugent, Granard, Co. Longford, of a proposed house on site LF015–020, a denuded ringfort. The location of the proposed house was adjusted to provide a 20m buffer zone around the ringfort. Seven test-trenches were excavated on the revised location of the proposed house. Subsoil was generally encountered at a depth of 0.36m exposing an orange/brown subsoil which was truncated by a series of north–south furrows. No features or stratigraphy of an archaeological nature were identified.
