Testing was carried out over one day at the rear of a building on Lower Main Street, Rathkeale. Three trenches were enacted through the site to reveal that this small plot of land has been extensively disturbed in recent times with the deposition of modern refuse and the enactment of soakage pits across the site. During the course of this testing activity nothing of an archaeological or historical significance was encountered.
