A test excavation was conducted at Killeline, Newcastle West, Co. Limerick, on 1 March 2007. The proposed development involved the construction of a dwelling and associated services within the zone of archaeological potential for an enclosure. Six trenches were excavated across the site. A stone-lined field drain was uncovered in two of the trenches. Three sherds of 19th-century pottery were also recovered. Nothing of archaeological significance was uncovered during the testing.
