Testing of the site was undertaken as part of a pre-planning assessment at Ballinvoher/Beagh, Ballysteen, Co. Limerick, which located it within the zone of archaeological potential for the tower-house and bawn of Beagh Castle. This development proposes the restoration of existing buildings to the south of the castle site with minimum impact on the archaeology. Five trenches were excavated in the proposed area of the development and confirmed the location of a limekiln recorded on the first-edition OS map. No finds or features of archaeological significance were uncovered during testing.
