Planning application has been submitted to Kilkenny County Council to develop the garden area at the rear of Nos 2 and 3 John’s Street, Kilkenny. The following report has been carried out in response to a further information request from the planning authority. The site of the proposed development lies to the rear of two dwellings on John’s Street, which date to the early 18th-century with 20th-century additions and lie within the zone of archaeological potential established around the medieval city of Kilkenny.
The excavation carried out at the rear of No. 3 John’s Bridge produced nothing of archaeological significance.
