This site was located within the N9/N10 Kilcullen to Waterford road scheme along Contract 2, Phase 4B, Knocktopher to Powerstown on low, slightly undulating land and was excavated between 28 November and 3 December 2007. Two pits (1.42m by 1.3m by 0.31m and 1.14m by 1m by 0.2m) with sloping sides and concave bases were discovered. One had evidence for in situ burning and the other was filled with a dark-grey, silty clay with frequent burnt and unburnt stones and moderate charcoal inclusions. Two irregular deposits were also located; they had accumulated within irregular depressions which were most likely tree boles.
