This site was located within the N9/N10 Kilcullen to Waterford road scheme along Contract 2, Phase 4, Knocktopher to Powerstown. The site was found just off the brow of a hill that overlooked a Bronze Age cemetery complex (see Nos 919–20 below, E3616 and E3617, AR076–AR077). The most significant feature on the site was a linear slot-trench that measured 3.75m by 0.25m by 0.1m. Twelve small pieces of prehistoric pottery were found within the brown sandy silt fill of the slot-trench. Four possible post-holes with diameters ranging from 0.18m to 0.35m and depths from 0.13m to 0.27m were found close to the slot-trench. The slot-trench and the post-holes possibly formed a temporary structure c. 3m by 4m in size. Ten further pits/post-holes were found within the 25m2 excavation area but none conformed to any obvious structural pattern. The site may represent a temporary campsite.
