The site, which represents a small infill development, measures c. 72m north–south by 10.5m, and is bounded on its eastern and western sides by modern houses. A house would be built in 172m2 of accommodation. A stone shed was demolished to facilitate site access. Monitoring took place in one day and revealed the site to consist of topsoil directly sealing geologically deposited clay. No archaeological features or objects were revealed as a result of the monitoring.
