Monitoring was carried out along the 1.6km stretch of the Naas southern ring road, Phase I and Phase II, Naas, Co. Kildare. The work was carried out in late March and early April 2007 on behalf of Kildare County Council.
Work was focused on the monitoring of topsoil-stripping in advance of the creation of works compounds and machine hard standing at two locations, east of the Newbridge Road, to the rear of Chadwick’s, and to the east of the Kilcullen Road. An area of the road-take to the east of the Kilcullen Road that was unavailable during testing was also monitored and the length of the road-take inspected. No sites or material of archaeological potential were identified.
