This site was excavated as part of the N9/N10 Kilcullen to Waterford scheme, Phase 3: Kilcullen to Carlow. A figure-of-eight kiln measuring 1.94m by 0.8m by 0.18m was noted during testing by CRDS Ltd.
This site is located to the west of, and in close proximity to, a cluster of pits and post-holes possibly representing some form of occupation evidence (E2985, No. 805, Excavations 2007). Post-excavation analysis is ongoing, while radiocarbon dating and examination of the environmental remains should provide further information regarding the date and use of the site.
