This site was excavated as part of the N9/N10 Kilcullen to Waterford scheme, Phase 3: Kilcullen to Carlow. Excavation revealed the remains of an oval bowl-shaped kiln. It measured 1.11m long by 0.92m wide and was 0.2m deep. Scorched earth was identified at the base. The kiln contained two fills; the lower fill comprised dark-brown silt clay with a moderate amount of charcoal and occasional pebbles. It measured 0.64m by 0.5m and 0.08m in depth. Directly over this was loosely compact dark-brown silt clay with occasional charcoal and pebbles. It measured 1.11m long by 0.92m wide and was 0.12m deep.

Three modern agricultural drainage ditches were located to the east and south-west of the kiln. A deposit of firmly compact mid-brown silt clay with stones was identified to the east and north of the ditches. This deposit silted into natural hollows on site and had an average thickness of 0.05m.
