A realignment of the R407 between Sallins and Castlesize, Co. Kildare, required monitoring of topsoil removal. The realignment was part of an ongoing upgrade of the R407 between Kilcock and Sallins. Further work is planned between Clane and Kilcock in 2008. Subsoil was encountered at 0.25–0.4m. No archaeological finds or features were encountered.
