This site was excavated as part of the N9/N10 Kilcullen to Waterford scheme, Phase 3: Kilcullen to Carlow. Excavation revealed three post-medieval field boundaries, one running east–west, measuring 1.5m wide and 1m deep, with an available extent of 7m, and two that ran north–south and measured 0.8m wide and 0.5m deep, with an available extent of 5m. One of these field boundaries had completely truncated a figure-of-eight corn-drying kiln, leaving only the basal layers and a small amount of oxidisation. The remains of the kiln measured 1.5m north–south and 0.8m wide with a maximum available depth of 0.25m. Further analysis of the charcoal remains and samples is ongoing.
