This site was excavated as part of the N9/N10 Kilcullen to Waterford scheme, Phase 3: Kilcullen to Carlow. An area measuring 100 m2 was stripped of topsoil and archaeological resolution was conducted on this site between 27 and 31 August 2007. This revealed the remains of a small isolated prehistoric rubbish pit, which measured 0.95m by 0.76m by 0.25m in depth. It contained four fills, which indicated that this feature had at least two episodes of use. The pit contained 67 small finds dominated by two types of prehistoric pottery but also a quantity of quartz and struck flints. Post-excavation work is ongoing.
